Promoting Our Town and Your Business
Each year your Chamber PAYS for space at 7 Welcome Centers to have the town brochures available to visitors.
Your Chamber has two representatives that go to the Clear Brook Welcome Center (the first and only Welcome Center when entering the Shenandoah Valley) twice a year in both June and October. We hand out business member’s brochures, town brochures and talk about what New Market has to offer. This PROMOTES OUR MEMBERS AND OUR TOWN.
Once a month a representative from your Chamber attends the Shenandoah County Chamber Advisory Group to share ideas, to let other Chambers know about our upcoming events, TO PROMOTE OUR MEMBERS and OUR TOWN.
Your Chamber holds monthly meetings the second Tuesday of each month, which is open to MEMBERS and NON-MEMBERS to share ideas, work on upcoming events, etc.
Your Chamber rents office space, which is open 5 days a week and also pays office staff to be there.
* greets visitors and assist with information about their visit to OUR TOWN, OUR MEMBERS and surrounding area.
* sends out relocation packets which includes MEMBERS brochures, TOWN brochures and surrounding area information.
* maintains a website of MEMBERS, Upcoming Events, etc.
* each and every time the phone is answered, WE PROMOTE OUR TOWN of NEW MARKET.
March—Your Chamber holds its annual banquet to give recognition to our outstanding BUSINESS, CITIZEN AND CIVIC ORGANIZATION of the year, along with a silent auction. This event is A FUNDRAISER for your Chamber.
May—Your Chamber attends the New Market Battle Re-enactment, selling T-Shirts, Raffle Tickets, Pottery, etc. This is A FUNDRAISER for your Chamber. We also hand out town and business brochures to PROMOTE OUR MEMBERS and OUR TOWN.
July—The Chamber proactively supports the 4th of July Town Activity by maintaining a booth at the 4th of July in the Park. This is A FUNDRAISER for your Chamber.
August—Your Chamber helps sponsor the SHENANDOAH COUNTY YARD CRAWL, which brings visitors and PROMOTES OUR TOWN.
October—Your Chamber puts on its annual Heritage Days Festival, which is A FUNDRAISER for your Chamber. This brings visitors to support our businesses and PROMOTES OUR TOWN.
December—Your Chamber helps sponsor Christmas Along the Old Valley Pike, which brings visitors and PROMOTES OUR TOWN.
Your Chamber has 89 members during the fiscal year of 2011. We had 430 volunteer hours working toward promoting out town.
